Comfort v. style. It's the eternal debate. Or at least between my mom and me. Are four or five inch heels comfortable? Not really. They can be bearable and they make any outfit look 10x more amazing, but they're just not profoundly comfortable. It's always a toss up, and as far back as I can remember I've always gone with style over comfort. Especially when it comes to footwear. But recently my feet just haven't really been able to do it anymore and I'm thinking I'm going to try really hard to wear comfortable shoes more often, especially when I'm at work all. day. long. One particular version I'm thinking of buying are the Eddie Ballet Flats (or the Reva, or the Carrie) from Miss Tory Burch. These guys.
Not super cheap (although the Eddies are on sale!), but I've heard amazing things about them. My poor feet have gone through far too many hours in heels and I want to give them a break by wearing some comfortable, quality shoes every once in awhile. Can anyone else vouch for their amazingness? Or do you have any go to brands where you find pretty shoes that are actually comfortable to wear all day? Let me know!
Those nude Carries are amazing.
ReplyDeletefunny - i'm actually trying to coach myself to wear heels again after only wearing flats to work for the last few years! i had the TB revas and wore them into the ground - but i will say, they take a while to break in and i know some people never found them to be comfortable. i think it really just depends on your foot. for flats i look for a soft material (ideally not suede or a material that will rub off - i learned that with my madewell horsehair flats!) and a rubber sole. to me those are the factors that make them comfortable!
ReplyDeletei do think those carries would be adorable this spring!
I love the Carrie flats!
ReplyDeleteI've heard that TB flats are amazing but I haven't tried them myself. I love GAP city flats. It's a little hit and miss with their availability (online or in-store) but they have been perfect for me running around the city streets of Chicago. I walk everywhere and they never give me blisters.
ReplyDeleteIf you get any of the TB flats be sure and let us know what you think. I'm curious!
I like the Eddie the best because it’s a solid color with no logos or anything!
ReplyDeleteI have a pair of Eddies and a couple pairs of Revas and they are both super comfortable. The Eddies are super thin though, and I kind of feel like I'm walking through them sometimes. They fit like a ballet shoe, so high on comfort, not as high on support. The Revas have a bit more support, and are still super comfortable. Even in the patent! AGLs are amazingly comfortable too, but a bit more expensive.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get a pair--you'll wear them forever!

Ooh, I want all of these. I really love the Carries especially. You'll have to let us know if you get a pair so I can live vicariously through you!
ReplyDeleteThis is a pretty old post so you've likely decided which pair of Tory flats you want. The Revas are iconic but often require some breaking in. I've always thought the Eddies were like pillows for my feet. Another Tory flats that is comfy right out of the box are the Carolines. I bought my first pair of Reva flats in November 2011 and today I have close to 40 pairs of the styles I've mention. I LOVE them all. There's a picture of my flats collection in this post I did. http://davisbe.wordpress.com/2014/08/25/my-world-is-flats/
ReplyDeleteGreat post, thanks for sharing and have a great day.
